We take great care to conduct an exhaustive home inspection, identify any material defects and provide you with a clear and comprehensive report to enable you to make an informed and educated buying decision. Our philosophy is to inform you, not intimidate you with jargon, and to educate you on all aspects of your new home. We are therefore especially well suited for first time buyers.
I am Martin Slon, owner of Brookfield Home Inspections and I assure you that I treat every inspection as if it were for myself.
I am a Civil Engineer, a property investor, and have experience as a NJ licensed contractor. You can be confident that your home inspection is in the very best of hands.
SERVICES
We offer comprehensive home inspections covering all aspects and systems of a typical home, including wood destroying organisms. In addition we offer a select variety of further specialized services and testing to assist you in the process of buying or selling a home. We specialize in older homes, especially those over 100 years old. The majority of homes inspected are 75 years or older. See our services page for details.
We offer Radon and Mold Inspections to complement our Home Inspection services. I have represented homeowners, landlords and tenants with Mold Inspection services and have provided Mold Expert witness services in court and for insurance claims.
All services are provided by a professional NJ Certified Home Inspector with additional certification by the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors for Mold, WDI and InfraRed Thermography inspections. I am also certified by IAC2 to perform mold inspections and mold testing. I am licensed by NJ to perform Radon Testing and by the FAA to fly a drone. We are fully insured.

For single family homes I will typically spend 3 or more hours in your new home, depending on it's size and condition. My technical training, process and all the instruments I use significantly reduces the chances of missing problems. Most of my inspections are of older, often historically significant homes, and I bring a deep expertise in the issues that are often unique to these 100+ year old historic homes. I generally limit myself to only one inspection per day so I can focus entirely on you and your new home, no matter how long it may take. My goal is an exhaustive inspection that provides you with all the information you need to make informed decisions about your home purchase.
